The Graz Art Week 2024 officially kicked off with an unforgettable opening that welcomed over 700 guests to the iconic Jugendstilhaus of Kastner & Öhler on Murgasse. The opening ceremony was led by Dr. Sandra Hoasek, Member of the State Parliament and Cultural Spokesperson for Styria, along with Dr. Günter Riegler, City Councillor for Culture in Graz.
A Night of Art, Culture, and Prominent Guests
The impressive venue showcased over 400 artworks by 16 talented artists from across Austria, captivating the audience with its diverse displays. Among the distinguished guests were notable figures such as Mag. Martin Wäg and Mag. Alexander Petrskovsky (Kastner & Öhler board members), entrepreneur Rudi Roth, Mag. Theodor Poppmaier (Spar founding family), Prim. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Gerd Ivanic, art collector Reinhard Diethard, Grazetta owner Gabi Leger, judge and author Helmut Wlasak, Markus Mair (Styria Group), Maxilian Wascher from John Harris, and Wolfgang Nusshold (Pluto Immobilien).
Adding to the charm of the evening, the Leo Hillinger pop-up wine bar was a crowd favorite, offering a curated selection of wines for tasting and purchase. This feature will remain available until the end of December. Complementing the wine bar is an illy coffee pop-up, inviting visitors to relax and enjoy the art-filled atmosphere.

Graz Art Week offers the perfect opportunity to find unique Christmas gifts. The selection ranges from limited editions priced at €50 to original artworks valued at up to €15,000. Many pieces found new homes during the opening night, and visitors can continue to purchase directly from the artists, with personalized advice and immediate take-home options available.
